  1. Thanks for the wonderful website. It’s like a walk down memory lane! I can smell those pine trees and taste the wonderful breakfast biscuits.

  2. Ruth Dunbar worked with Laura Mattoon in the initial establishing of Camp Kehonka. Ruth studied science at Smith, Laura at Wellesley. I would like to find out if there is any record of how they came to meet. I can find no biography for Laura Mattoon, just little short inclusions in camping articles. Early, about 1913, my father, Ruth’s younger brother, came to work as a counselor at Kehonka. There he met my mother, Ilse Knauth, who was a student from the Veltin school, where Laura was head of the science department. His diaries include many accounts of being at Camp Kehonka, or of visiting in NYC where Laura was teaching science at the Veltin School where my mother and aunt were students. Do any of the early records shed any light on these people or the early events at the camp?
